Planned Gifts

Imagine by sharing your personal resources, you could brighten the future for generations of people with disabilities, for vulnerable children, and for their families and caregivers. It wouldn’t be hard. It wouldn’t take years of research. It would require just a solid commitment to an organization that thousands of people turn to each year for help: Westchester Institute of Human Development.

A planned gift, bequest or donation to the Ansley Bacon Fund can do good forever. You can build a lifetime gift to Westchester Institute of Human Development into your estate planning and leave a legacy that will help support the individuals and families we serve for years to come.

BEQUESTS

A gift through your will may take a number of forms, including a percentage of your estate, a specific dollar amount, real estate (or other property), or the residue or “remainder” of your estate after all other bequests are made.

ANSLEY BACON FUND FOR THE FUTURE OF WIHD

Established by generous supporters to honor Dr. Bacon’s 30-year legacy and ensure WIHD’s long-term sustainability, a dedicated pool of funds have been created to provide enduring support for WIHD and its work. Make a donation to the Ansley Bacon Fund and help WIHD achieve its mission.

LIFE INSURANCE

A life insurance policy naming Westchester Institute for Human Development as a beneficiary is a simple and cost-effective way for you to make a substantial gift. Additionally, if you make WIHD the owner and sole beneficiary of your policy, you can report the annual premiums, or the cash value of a paid-up policy, as a charitable deduction in the year of the gift. Please consult your insurance agent or financial advisor to learn how a small investment in life insurance can yield a generous gift for Westchester Institute for Human Development.

TRANSFER SHARES OF STOCK

Owned, appreciated stocks can be gifted to WIHD while avoiding the capital gains tax on the appreciation of your stock.

IRA ROLLOVER

If you are 70½ or older, transfer funds directly from your IRA to WIHD.  Gifting an IRA to WIHD will satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year and reduce your taxable income.
