The LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) Program graduated 21 trainees on May 11. LEND is an interdisciplinary leadership training program, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the federal government at 60 universities around the country.

The 21 trainees who graduated from WIHD’s LEND Program include graduate students and professionals from health and education disciplines, self-advocates, and family members of individuals with disabilities. Disciplines represented included audiology, genetics, occupational therapy, psychology, public health, social work, special education, physical therapy and speech language pathology.

Through participating in LEND, trainees develop knowledge and skills to become leaders working with and on behalf of individuals with disabilities and their families, to improve health outcomes and decrease disparities.
