This presentation will provide a brief overview of the New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA) testing program and the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential which is awarded upon exit from school, accompanied by a Student Exit Summary. Parents will learn how these documents identify a student’s level of achievement and independence utilizing skills that improve the ability of students to function in work settings and in the community. (Generally for parents of children with severe disabilities who are eligible for the NYS Alternate Assessment).
