Preschool special education programs and/or services are available to children aged 3 to 5 years, by direct referral to the local school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). The first step in making a referral to the Committee on Preschool Special Education for a child from ages three to five, is writing a letter expressing the need for a multidisciplinary evaluation. This is a sample letter to use in order for a parent to make the referral, which can be personalized.
