Opening Address: Angelica M. Infante-Green, Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Education Department’s Office of Instructional Support, who spearheaded the release of the nationally-recognized Blueprint for English Language Learners’ Success.
Keynote Speaker: Tracey Nix Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Urban Education, University of Wisconsin, will present The Posture of Cultural Reciprocity as a tool for increasing collaborative transition planning between educators and families from diverse backgrounds. Participants will challenge their cultural awareness and biases, identify how culture impacts transition planning and learn how to facilitate culturally responsive transition plans.
