This workshop will be presented in English and Spanish for parents whose children with special needs are transitioning from preschool and the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) into elementary school and the Committee on Special Education (CSE). Attendees will learn about the CSE process and timelines; the similarities and differences between CPSE and CSE processes, services, and programs; the roles and responsibilities of CSE committee members and parental rights; evaluations, eligibility for services, and the individualized education program (IEP); continuum of services in CSE and the benefits of the general education setting; current federal and state regulations; and districtwide supports and services.
