Conozca Sus Derechos: Suspensiones – ¿La escuela ha pedido que recoja a su hijo en el medio del día escolar? ¿El equipo escolar ha acusado a su hija de “insubordinación” o “desafiar la autoridad”? ¿Sabe que hacer si se suspende a su hijo? En este taller facilitado por la Asociación de Libertades Civiles de Nueva York (NYCLU), revisaremos los derechos de su hijo en el proceso de suspensión y exploraremos alternativas efectivas a la disciplina punitiva. Los padres saldrán equipados con el conocimiento para abogar por sus hijos cuando se enfrentan a una suspensión.

Know Your Rights: Suspensions – Have you been asked to pick up your child in the middle of the school day because of their behavior? Has your child been accused of “insubordination” or “defying authority” by school staff? Do you know what to do if your child is suspended? At this workshop led by the New York Civil Liberties Union, we’ll review your child’s rights in the suspension process and explore effective alternatives to punitive discipline. Parents will leave equipped with the knowledge to advocate for their children when faced with a suspension.
