Q: WHAT IS THE TECHNOLOGY LOAN PROGRAM FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS, AND PRESCHOOLERS?
The Technology Loan Program for Infants and Toddlers is a service provided by the New York State TRAID Project and the New York State Department of Health. Additional funding for preschoolers in Westchester is provided by the Westchester County Department of Health. –
Q: WHAT IS THE COST TO USE THE LOAN PROGRAM SERVICE?
The Loan Program helps families of children with disabilities borrow needed technology free of charge.
Q: WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO USE THE LOAN PROGRAM?
Children from 0-5 who are residents of Westchester County. Children from 0-3 who are residents of Putnam and Rockland Counties.
Q: WHAT KINDS OF DEVICES ARE AVAILABLE FOR LOAN?
- Communication devices
- Prone and supine standers
- Bath seats
- Adapted chairs and tricycles
- Light Boxes
- Battery-adapted toys
- Adapted puzzles and other toys
- Computers and software
- Adapted computer access

Q: HOW DOES THE TECHNOLOGY LOAN PROGRAM WORK?
Families and service providers can call or visit to see if a needed device is available for loan. Devices can be borrowed for evaluation, therapy, school, or home use to support objectives in the IFSP or IEP.
Q: HOW LONG IS THE LOAN PERIOD?
Initial loan period for evaluative purposes is 8 weeks. If a device is found to be appropriate after an evaluation, the loan can be extended up to 6 months.
Q: HOW WILL WE KNOW HOW TO USE THE DEVICE?
Any piece of equipment must be used under the supervision of a qualified therapist, who is responsible for ensuring appropriate use and providing training. In addition, an instruction sheet is included with every device.
Q: DOES THE TECHNOLOGY LOAN PROGRAM ACCEPT DONATIONS OF ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES?
We accept donations of no longer needed devices to recycle to other children and families. Please call to discuss with our staff. We accept donations with a smile!
