Becoming a Sexual and Relationship Self Advocate

Katherine MacLaughlinClick here to join

People with developmental disabilities are often left out of the conversation about sexuality, almost as if they are incapable of having thoughts, feelings, and needs. In reality, they, too, are sexual beings that need information and skills for making healthy decisions about sexuality and learning ways to stay safe as they navigate relationships. During this workshop, professionals, parents, and self-advocates will learn what is sexual self-advocacy, examine what knowledge and skills are needed to be a sexual self-advocate, and explore ways to support others in speaking up for what they want and need.

*This session will run for 90 minutes.
