BRIEF BIO / PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS

Dr. Stephanie Bader has over 13 years of experience working with individuals of all ages with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities using evidence-based behavioral interventions. Her clinical interests include the development of behavioral interventions to increase adaptive behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors, as well as behavioral parent-training to address externalizing behaviors such as noncompliance, tantrums, and aggression in individuals with and without a developmental disability.  Dr. Stephanie Bader also has extensive experience working with at-risk children (aggression, inattention, noncompliance, school refusal, experienced a trauma), as well as consulting with schools and outside agencies to assist in improving their quality of services.

DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH INTERESTS/ACTIVITIES

Dr. Stephanie Bader’s research interests include exploring family factors within the home of a child with autism spectrum disorder (parent stress, parenting practices) and the impact of these factors on behavioral outcomes. Another area of research interest includes the examination and development of behavioral interventions to increase adaptive behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors (stereotypy, medical/dental procedure refusals).
