The Westchester Institute for Human Development is currently looking for a Director of Primary Care. This full time position plays a key role in achieving our goal to continue to be a leader in comprehensive healthcare for individuals with disabilities. S/he is the clinical leader of the Patient-Centered Medical Home. This position works in partnership with the Health Services Administrator and is responsible for the professional, organizational, and administrative aspects of the adequacy and quality of health care provided by the primary care providers. The Director of Primary Care is a leadership position which is eligible for a faculty appointment in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
The individual in this position should demonstrate: commitment to the entity’s mission and organizational values; ability to function as core member of a management team; and ability to communicate effectively and work well with people. Must be in good standing within the medical profession.
Education/Licensure: Physician licensed by and currently registered with the NYS Education Department, completed an accredited residency training program with Board certification in his/her specialty
Knowledge of: Healthcare needs of individuals with developmental disabilities; best practices in quality assurance.
Kind and Length of Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a Primary Care physician (Internist or Family and Community Medicine) with a strong commitment to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and an equal commitment to collaborating with colleagues including caregivers, families and referral sources to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, patient-focused service.
