Summary of Licensed Clinical Psychologist Position:

Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is a leader in addressing major social and health issues affecting people with disabilities and vulnerable children.

We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time (or part-time) licensed clinical psychologist to join our Behavioral Health team. Our Behavioral Health program is built around an integrated, interdisciplinary care model that ensures patients (pediatric and adult) receive the highest quality medical and behavioral evidence-based healthcare. Our team recognizes the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are also having behavioral challenges, mood (anxiety, depression, affective regulation), or psychotic symptoms. As advocates for our patients, we work with these individuals and their families to provide behavioral analytic, psychotherapeutic, psychopharmacologic, family counseling, and caregiver training as needed to thrive.

As a Behavioral Health psychologist, your primary responsibilities for adult and children diagnosed with a developmental disorder include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic formulation and treatment planning in conjunction with behavioral health team.
  • Provide behavior analytic services to children and adults who display challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, destruction, self-injurious behavior, chronic noncompliance).
  • Provide behavior analytic intervention for those who will benefit from targeted goals in communication, adaptive, and/or academic skills.
  • Provide these services either on-site and/or through telehealth as is necessary.
  • Have strong team participation skills in order to consult and collaborate with other providers and support staff for continuity of care.
  • Participate in continuing education sessions as part of the interdisciplinary team that aims to provide best practice, integrated, evidence-based care.
  • Advocate for and develop plans to improve patients’ well-being.
  • Maintain medical records and other documentation of services provided.
  • Provide supervision and conduct seminars for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral psychology fellows, as well as master’s level clinicians.

 Qualifications

  • Must hold a doctoral degree in the field of psychology and be licensed to practice in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis, functional behavior assessment, parent training, and cognitive behavioral techniques.

Full Time Rate of Pay: $85,000 – $110,000 Annually / 35 Hours Per Week
