DESCRIPTION:This six series parent training will provide information for families on how to promote children’s social and emotional skills\, understand their problem behavior\, and use positive approaches to help children learn appropriate behavior. SUMMARY:Transition Planning from Preschool Special Education to Kindergarten
DESCRIPTION:This online training will support parents as they prepare for their child’s transition from preschool special education to kindergarten. Topics covered include: understanding the differences between Committee for Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee for Special Education (CSE)\, understanding the transition process from CPSE to CSE\, learning how to be an active member of the transition team\, understanding the purpose of an Individualized Education Program (IEP). \nThis workshop will be held via ZOOM \n\nRegistered participants will receive access to a self-guided training package on January 11th. This will include a three-part training webinar.\nParticipants will listen to the 3 parts at their own pace (each is approximately 20 minutes long)\nParticipants will receive handouts that they can access and save or print as well as helpful resources\nThe presenters will host a Live Q&A Session via Zoom (link will be provided) on Wednesday\, January 13\, 2021. SUMMARY:Family Engagement: Community and Culture - Winter 2021
DESCRIPTION:This session aims to ensure that educational sites are culturally responsive and welcoming\, and educators are mindful with how they communicate with parents\, guardians\, and families. This interactive\, hybrid course requires participants to complete a self-paced\, asynchronous course online and participate in an interactive\, synchronous Zoom session for discussion (1 hour); multiple options for Zoom sessions will be available. Additional information\, including Zoom links\, will be communicated to enrolled participants who complete the asynchronous course\, approximately one week prior to the live session. *Please note that registration for this workshop will close at 3:30 pm on Tuesday\, January 26th. Please be sure to register by the deadline\, as this will give us a finalized registration list for the meeting\, allowing us to admit only registered participants into the Zoom session. Once registration closes\, all participants will be sent an email with the Zoom link for the session.
