Residency Elective Rotation in Developmental Medicine

Family Medicine and internal medicine physicians require knowledge and skills to provide top quality health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Westchester Institute for Human Development offers a two-to-four week residency elective rotation in Developmental Medicine in our Adult Health Services Clinic under the direction of WIHD’s Medical Director.

During the rotation, residents learn about important health issues for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and evidence-based strategies for optimizing health and they develop skills and attitudes that support self-determination and self-management.

For more information about the rotation, please contact communications@wihd.org or call 914-493-1235.
