Event to Kick-off Community Outreach Focusing On Improving Lives of People With Disabilities

The Westchester Institute for Human Development will host their Second Annual Golf Outing on Thursday, June 12th. This event will kick-off a new series of events and community tours at WIHD.
The Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is committed
to improving the quality of life for children and adults with developmental
disabilities and their families throughout the seven-county lower Hudson
Valley region and beyond. WIHD also serves as an advocate for change in
public policy. A large population served by WIHD includes children in
foster care, their foster parents and birth parents, and children who have
experienced sexual abuse. A nonprofit organization which began operating
50 years ago, WIHD is located in Valhalla on the campus of the
Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College, and has been
cited as one of 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental
Disabilities Education, Research and Service in the nation.
