The most critical realization for parents is that they are integral PARTNERS in the special education process, despite the inevitable differences of opinion. This workshop will start with the purpose of the annual review, how the CSE team maneuvers through the various sections of the IEP in their discussion, and measures parents can take to effectively prepare for the annual review so as to properly engage in the CSE meeting. Parents will be guided through the process of creating a binder for pertinent documents in an effort to organize their thoughts and issues prior to the annual review. They will be introduced to essential tools available on the HVSEPC website to support them in their preparation. Last, the discussion will cover a parent’s options in the case of a CSE team that cannot reach consensus. Click here for Event Flyer.
