Professional Position Announcements
The Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) envisions a future where all people, including children and adults living with disabilities, fully participate in society, live healthy and productive lives, have access to culturally appropriate services and supports, emerging technologies, competent professionals, caring families, caregivers, and communities. Position Descriptions
Associate Director, Child Welfare Services
- Assists with program development, management and leadership; maintains relationships with local Department of Social Services, New York State Office of Children and Family Services and community organizations.
- Qualifications include knowledge of child welfare policy and practice; experience within the child welfare system; administrative and program development skills.
- Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in an area related to child welfare, or MSW with extensive experience. Must qualify for an academic appointment in New York Medical College’s School of Public Health.
Entry-Level Psychologist, Child Welfare Services
- Provides clinic and community-based assessment and therapeutic responsibilities with a focus on children and families receiving services through the child welfare system. Once familiar with the program, opportunities for growth will be available in management, research, and training roles, and can include a faculty appointment at New York Medical College’s School of Public Health.
- Qualifications include leadership and communication abilities; experience in assessment, and developing or supervising behavioral interventions.
- Earned doctoral degree in clinical psychology or closely related field; NYS licensure; must possess car and valid driver’s license.
