Robert A. Volin, Ph.D.
Speech-Language Pathologist
Robert A. Volin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Speech-Language
Pathology at the School of Public Health, New York Medical College,
and is on the clinical staff of the Speech and Hearing Center
at WIHD. He came to academic speech-language pathology after
thirteen years as a hospital-based staff clinician at the VA
Medical Center in Manhattan. While at the VA, he developed a
program specializing in benign voice disorders and the treatment
of patients with voice disorders resulting from laryngeal cancer.
Dr. Volin was among the first group of speech pathologists helping
laryngectomees to use the tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis.
He combines his voice background with extensive experience in
managing patients with neurogenic communication disorders.
