Marilyn Klein, M.A.
Director, Speech and Hearing Center
Ms. Klein joined the faculty in the Communication Disorders Department at WIHD in 1972. Since 1981, she has served as Director of the Speech and Hearing Center which is the major resource for speech and hearing at the Westchester Medical Center and the Westchester Institute for Human Development. In this capacity, she has implemented an Infant Hearing Screening Program at WMC, developed a cochlear implant program, and assumed responsibility for developing the craniofacial anomalies team.
Ms. Klein participated in the development of the Masters Program in Medical Speech/Language Pathology in the School of Public Health, NYMC. All of the students from this program receive training in the Speech and Hearing Center at WIHD and WMC.
Ms. Klein plays a major role in the LEND Fellowship Program; participates in the preparation of grants and progress reports; and collects and organizes the data.
For the past two years, Ms. Klein participated on the Academic Policy Committee,
School of Public Health, NYMC, and is a preceptor for
the 4th year medical students in their Pediatric Chronic
Care Selective.
