Kate Franklin, Ph.D, CCC-SLP
Director, Assistive Technology
Dr. Franklin joined WIHD in 1999, as an augmentative communication
specialist on the WIHD Assistive Technology Team. She works
at WIHD approximately 20% of her time, and serves as a faculty
member in the Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Program for
the balance of her time. Dr. Franklin's responsibilities in
the Program in Speech-Language Pathology include establishing
and maintaining clinical training affiliations for students
in the program, teaching courses in the areas of diagnosis/treatment
in speech-language pathology and augmentative communication.
Dr. Franklin organizes and teaches a clinical seminar series
to graduate students in speech-language pathology. Additionally,
she provides supervision to graduate students at the WIHD Speech
and Hearing Center. Dr. Franklin is a contributing editor to
Communication Disorders Quarterly and is the newsletter editor
and executive committee member for the United States Society
for Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
