Patricia Seagriff-Curtin, D.D.S.
Director, Dental Services
Dr. Seagriff-Curtin joined WIHD in 1993
as a part-time general dentist providing all phases of
general dentistry to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Prior to joining WIHD she was an associate in several
private dental practices in New York. In 1999 she was
appointed the Director of WIHD Dental Services. She is
a member of the American Dental Association, Ninth District
Dental Society and Special Care Dentistry.
Some of Dr. Seagriff-Curtin's activities
include: 1) involvement with the preparation of a request
for funding from the Kennedy Foundation for a pilot study
using PDA technology to improve the oral health of adults
with mental retardation which has recently been granted;
2) researching the leasing of a Mobile Dental Van to provide
dental services to more rural communities in the upper
Hudson Valley area which has already been approved in
the budget; 3) participating in the Annual Kid's Fair
in 2001 and 2002 for the Children's Hospital of Westchester
Medical Center by presenting interactive games that also
educate the parents and children on the importance of
good oral health; 4) coordinating the 1st Special Smiles
Program (oral screenings of each special athlete) at the
Westchester/ Putnam Special Olympics event in May 2002.
