The Lower Hudson Valley Regional Technology
Center [RTC] helps to make sure that children and adults
with disabilities in Westchester and Rockland Counties have
access to assistive technology they need to be more independent
and participate more fully in the community. Our services include:
We invite people with disabilities and their families, school
and agency staff, employers, and the general public to visit
so that they can see assistive technology that might be helpful.
The RTC is located in the Westchester Institute for Human Development,
on the campus of the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla,
NY.

The RTC offers free, 45-minute hands-on demonstrations of a range
of assistive technology devices in the areas of:

boards to complex voice-output devices
Daily Living Supports- Grippers
and reachers to adapted telephones
Instructional Technology - Adapted
books to computer software
Computer Access - Adapted keyboards
to voice recognition software
Mobility - Canes to power wheelchairs
Seating and Positioning - Adjustable
chairs to computer workstations
Hearing - Amplified doorbells to
assisted listening devices
Recreation and Leisure - Adapted
toys to computer games
Vision - Large print books to computer
screen-readers
