Fostering Healthy Development and
Ensuring the Safety of all Children
Early Childhood Services
Diagnostic evaluation and treatment services are provided for children with developmental concerns, neurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as cerebral palsy, and other neuromotor disorders, spina bifida and autism spectrum.

Early Childhood Direction Center
The Early Childhood Direction Center (ECDC) is a free and confidential information and referral, technical assistance, and training center for parents of children from birth to age five with known or suspected special needs, as well as for professionals who provide services to children.

The Family Connection Service Coordination Program
The Family Connection Service Coordination Program provides initial and ongoing service coordination for families of infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays in Westchester County by a staff of trained professionals who are parents of children with special needs. Families receive eligibility, accessing, coordinating and monitoring service assistance.

Child Welfare Services
Comprehensive evaluation and treatment services are provided to children and families who receive child welfare services in Westchester County. These include: training for child welfare program staff, in-home assessments, support and respite for foster families; developmental and clinical evaluations for children in foster care and their birth parents.
The Children's Advocacy Center provides forensic medical and psychosocial assessments of any child who may have experienced physical abuse and/or sexual exploitation.

Promoting Health and Well-being Among People of all Ages with Disabilities
Adult Health Services
Primary health care is provided to individuals with severe disabilities, multiple complex health problems or behavior problems within a family-centric environment. Health services include physiatry, ophthalmology, neurology, endocrinology, podiatry and ENT.

Behavioral Health Program
Behavioral consultation, psychopharmacology and counseling services are offered to children and adults with developmental disabilities who have challenging behaviors and/or mental health problems.

Dental Services
Comprehensive general dental services, minor oral surgery, and referrals for various dental specialties are provided for children and adults with disabilities in our facility-based dental clinic and on our mobile dental van.

Speech and Hearing Center
A full range of outpatient and inpatient services are provided to adults and children in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of speech-language, voice, feeding, swallowing and hearing disorders.

Strengthening Individuals, Families and Communities
WIHD LINKS Network
(formerly the Family Connection and the Consumer Resource Center)
LINKS Network provides resources, training and information to support individuals with disabilities and their families to live a meaningful and dignified life. This family-staffed program promotes leadership, individual and family advocacy, self-determination and community inclusion with an emphasis on health and wellness through programs such as Parent to Parent of New York State.

Parent to Parent
The Hudson Valley Region Office of Parent to Parent of NYS is a parent-staffed program to assist families of children with disabilities and special health needs, providing support to parents in seven counties (Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Orange, Ulster and Dutchess). This confidential and no-fee service matches parents with similar situations who receive support through telephone contacts, home or hospital visits, or at the center.

School and Community Outreach
Training, technical assistance, consultation, staff development, and specialized services are provided on a contractual basis to families, schools and community agencies in areas such as assistive technology, positive behavior support, autism spectrum and inclusion.

Innovative Services & Supports
Assistive Technology Services
An interdisciplinary team works with individuals and families to identify devices or adaptations to improve mobility, communication, computer access, or control over the environment. The Regional Technology Center provides information and referral services, maintains a device demonstration center, and offers a loan program of adapted toys, high-tech equipment and light-tech devices for infants and toddlers.

LEND Training Program
The Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities Program, one of 36 programs nationwide, provides intensive leadership training for advanced graduate students and post-doctoral fellows pursuing health careers serving children with special healthcare needs and their families.
