A Training Program on Emergency Preparedness
My Safety, My Responsibility, My Plan is a multi-session program to train adults with intellectual disabilities to understand and to be prepared for emergencies. Information is based on the principles set by FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, the American Red Cross and the U.S. Fire Administration.

About the Author
Marilyn Vitale is a Program Coordinator at WIHD, where her focus is on the health and safety of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Vitale has an M.A. degree in Social Sciences and Humanities with a concentration in Ethics and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She worked in the counseling field for 20 years and as a research assistant at Fordham University prior to completing a fellowship in the Leadership in Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Training Program as a family specialist.
